I can be the knife in your back
The noose around your neck
The bullet right through your skull
But I'd rather be the force of my spoken word
Let our voices form the weapons

Forgive Durden's(Thomas Dutton) "Razia's Shadow" was my most anticipated, and now my favorite album of the year. After following the AbsolutePunk news threads about this project, my expectations were high, and boy did it not disappoint. This is not a concept album, but a musical which was very well executed indeed. With a barrage of guest musicians, notable ones to me were John Gourley (PTM), Aaron Weiss (mwY), Casey Crescenzo (TREOS) and Max Bemis of Say Anything, each one of them bring life to the character they portrayed in the story. I was thoroughly impressed with every artist on here, even Brendan Urie. That's something I thought would never say. All the respect in the world to you Mr. Dutton and company, for creating this musical epic.

I won't spoil what happens in the story, but here's a quick plot description:
"The album tells the story of a world divided in two by the selfish actions of a powerful and egotistical, yet insecure angel. After generations of darkness, the world is eventually brought back together by the love and sacrifice of a couple brave enough to fulfill their destinies"
